Traffic Management Inspection

by Greg Fleming, from the Community

Downloads: 10+

This traffic management inspection template helps supervisors assess the safety of road and work zone operations. Verify if a traffic management plan or traffic control plan is required and present on site. Check that signs and devices are in good condition, correctly sized, duplicated where needed, and installed at proper height, position, and distance. Confirm retroreflective materials and visibility are suitable and not obscured by vehicles or vegetation. Review cones and bollards spacing and size, taper type and length, crest and curve setups, and control of property access. Ensure pedestrians and cyclists are accommodated. Inspect traffic controllers for valid certification, high visibility clothing, escape routes, and appropriate signage such as prepare to stop and traffic controller ahead. Record site, supervisor, contractor, and timing details, along with any modifications to the approved plan.
