Scaffolding Safety Checklist (AFI 91-203)
by 167th Wing Safety Office, from the Community
This scaffolding safety checklist aligns with AFI 91-203 and helps verify key requirements before use. It covers qualified erection, proper footings and anchorage, guardrails and toeboards, wire mesh screening where required, and design to support at least four times the intended load. Inspectors can confirm condition of components, bracing and plumb, controls for adverse weather, use of hard hats during erection and teardown, housekeeping to prevent debris buildup, and restrictions on shore or lean-to scaffolds. The checklist supports consistent inspections to improve jobsite safety and compliance.
