Use this scaffolding audit checklist to verify TG20 compliance and safe use of scaffolds erected by contractors. Review scaffold tagging and dates, scaffold types and locations, footings and sole boards, standards, ledgers, transoms, and bracing. Check tie patterns, boarded lifts, guardrails, toe boards, and brick guards. Confirm fall protection (gates, trap doors, enclosures, staircases), safe ladder or stair access, and condition of tubes, fittings, and couplers. Assess proximity to power lines and lifting equipment like gin wheels. Record issues such as missing or out-of-date tags, missing guardrails, unsecured ladders, gaps in toe boards, or power cable concerns. Conclude with an inspection summary and sign-off to determine if the scaffold is safe to use.
