Construction Environmental Audit Checklist
by Michael Stanczyc, from the Community
Use this environmental audit checklist to assess environmental controls on construction projects. Verify erosion and sediment controls such as silt fencing and straw bales, protection of soil stockpiles, and proper concrete washout. Confirm spill kits are available, refueling restrictions are followed, and endangered species protections are in place. Review site dewatering against the SWPPP, check for silt runoff, and document contaminated soil protocols, HASP, PPE, medical surveillance, industrial hygiene sampling, and HAZWOPER training. Record findings, comments, and signatures.
