Oakdale Group Monthly Scissor Lift Inspection
by Ben Morgan, from the Community
This monthly scissor lift inspection checklist helps verify the condition and safe operation of MEWPs. It covers log book availability, compliance and ID plates, reverse beeper and flashing light, tyre condition, safe work limits and SWL/WLL markings. Inspect that all controls are clearly labelled and functioning, including emergency stop, emergency lowering, deadman controls, motion controls, horn, and both ground and platform panels. Check for hydraulic leaks, adequate guarding of hot surfaces and moving parts, and the platform’s floor, handrails, frame, and self-locking gate. Assess exhaust emissions or electrical test and tag status, structural integrity of the scissor assembly and stabilisers/outriggers. Engine checks include oil filter, battery security, engine oil, coolant, hydraulic oil, leaks, and fan belt. Exterior checks include wheel nuts, steering, lights, compliance plate, and log book. Record site details, hours, and capture signatures and comments.
