This workplace inspection checklist supports safe lifting operations on construction projects such as WestConnex M4E. It covers appointment of a Lift Operations Coordinator, competency and approval of lift plans and studies, SWMS availability and sign-on, establishment of exclusion zones, verification of ground conditions and geotechnical approvals, correct setup and barricading of outriggers, inspection and tagging of lifting and rigging gear, availability of crane documentation and pre-start records, requirements for calibrated test weights, signage and barricading, load percentages and exceptions, and clear, tested communication protocols including hand signals and radios. It also prompts photographic evidence, tag color checks, crew walk-throughs, hazard identification, use of non-conductive tag lines, and action tracking with sign-offs.
