Use this inspection checklist to assess lifting shackles and other lifting accessories. Confirm identification markings on the body and pin, check for wear over 10 percent, corrosion and pitting, deformation, heat damage, thread and pin engagement issues, and any signs of unauthorized welding. Remove and tag out defective shackles and record actions taken. Perform monthly checks and visual checks before each use.
