Hazardous and Flammable Materials Safety Checklist
by Adam Kelly, from the Community
This EAS Essential checklist helps teams manage hazardous and flammable materials safely on site. It covers safe distances from ignition sources, use of approved containers with spring-closing lids, correct labeling and color coding, and good housekeeping with prompt spill cleanup. It includes checks for bulk fuel storage tanks with berms, grounding and bonding during dispensing, compliant flammable storage cabinets with clear signage and nearby extinguishers, no smoking and hot work controls, required PPE, and secure disposal of flammable waste. Use it to standardize inspections, reduce fire risk, and support OSHA compliance.
