Use this crane work box (man box) inspection checklist to verify compliance and safety before lifting personnel. Confirm design registration, clearly marked working load limit and tare mass, and correct tagging or data plate details. Check rated fall‑arrest anchorage points and secure attachment to the crane. Review slings and shackles, safety factors for chains and wire rope, and that free‑fall is locked out. Ensure the crane meets capacity requirements, has anti two‑block protection, and constant‑pressure controls. Validate rigging gear test and tag, pre‑use checks, harness attachment, and that only licensed doggers/riggers give directions. Prohibit traveling while suspended, keep workers inside the box, and establish emergency retrieval plans.
