Use this CAT 308 excavator pre-start checklist to perform daily safety and readiness checks before operation. Verify fuel, engine oil, hydraulic oil, and radiator levels; inspect tyres or tracks, bucket pins and linkage, and hydraulic hoses; confirm lights, audible reversing alarms, indicators, mirrors, and horn function. Check guards and handrails, rams, pins, steering rods, seat and seat belt, and control switches and levers. Ensure orange/green beacons and the camera operate correctly. Test height and slew restrictors, and confirm permits to break ground, lift, and overhead work are current. Note any defects or comments and complete name, signature, and date fields for each day (Mon–Fri).
