Annual Program Review: Working at Heights
by Michael Currie, from the Community
Use this annual program review checklist to evaluate working at heights controls across your site. Confirm use of standard permits, volumes issued, third-party fall risk assessments, and equipment integrity of fall arrest systems and anchor points. Verify training, inspections before use, annual competent-person inspections, and adherence to manufacturer instructions. Review scaffold and mobile platform requirements, daily inspections, and lift operator health and recertification. Ensure rescue plans, control methods for unprotected edges, and regulatory thresholds for maintenance and construction are met. Check permit completeness, roles, responsibilities, and time limits.
