ADA Curb Ramps Inspection Checklist
by alexander.eckert@wichita.edu, from the Community
Use this ADA curb ramps inspection checklist to evaluate curb ramp compliance in public rights-of-way. Verify minimum 36 inch width, running slope 8.33 percent or less, cross slope 2 percent or less, and proper landings that drain without ponding. Confirm flared sides and transitions, clear paths free of parked vehicles, and correct placement within crosswalk markings. Assess detectable warnings with truncated domes, contrast, spacing, and depth per section 705. Include checks for built-up, corner, parallel, and island configurations, bottom and top landings, and segment curbs. Capture observations to document issues and plan corrective work.
