This monthly safety inspection checklist supports forestry coupe operations. It covers site details, personnel and contractor induction, PPE compliance, operator licensing (FOLS), training records, and emergency procedures. Inspect roads and site entry signage, landings and log stacks, snig tracks, and falling areas for hazards. Verify safe felling methods, communications, and equipment readiness. Audit mobile plant such as harvesters, forwarders, skidders, loaders, and excavators for fire suppression, ROPS/FOPS, radios, seat belts, maintenance, and isolation systems. Assess chainsaw safety to AS 2726/2727 standards. Use to document findings, corrective actions, and continuous improvement in line with the Forest Safety Code.
