Daily Tow-Behind Chipper Safety Checklist
by Kymberley Havard, from the Community
This daily tow-behind chipper checklist helps landscaping and grounds teams verify equipment condition before operation. Inspect engine and hydraulic oil levels, safety guarding, tow hitch, electrics, handbrake and breakaway cable, chute security, spare tyre, safety decals, emergency stop bar and button, on/off controls, lights and indicators, tyre pressures and tread depth, number plate, and the availability of the operator’s manual. Team leaders sign off each day to confirm the chipper is safe and ready for use.
