Annual Facility Safety Audit for Feed and Grain
by Jeffrey Hicks, from the Community
This annual safety audit template helps feed and grain facilities assess compliance and reduce risk across operations. Review OSHA recordkeeping, first aid, incident reporting, safety committees, and routine facility inspections. Verify fire protection, walking surfaces, PPE, hearing conservation, hazard communication, and lockout tagout. Evaluate powered industrial trucks, emergency action and egress, bloodborne pathogens, confined space entry, respiratory protection, formaldehyde controls, and machine guarding. Cover electrical safety, loading docks, and grain and feed handling programs including dust control, bin entry permits, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance. Include machine-specific training, equipment inspections, and periodic air monitoring for dust exposure.
